Precision Polymer CNC
Custom Plastic Positioning Blocks
Plastic positioning blocks locate, align, and support components in machinery and assemblies where metal parts would introduce unwanted conductivity, corrosion, or weight. Each block is produced from solid stock through subtractive processes that maintain consistent geometry across batches.
Common Materials for Positioning Blocks
Selection is driven by load, temperature, and chemical exposure. PlasticCNCPro maintains stock of standard and reinforced or antistatic grades.
POM / Acetal
Low moisture uptake and good dimensional stability for general mechanical use.
Nylon & Glass-Filled Variants
Added strength where higher mechanical loads occur.
UHMW-PE
Abrasion resistance for sliding and wear applications.
PEEK, PPS, PVDF
For elevated temperatures and aggressive media.
CNC Machining Capabilities
Blocks are produced on multi-axis milling and turning centers, with secondary operations performed in the same setup to preserve alignment. Batch sizes range from single prototypes to several hundred pieces per run.
3-Axis & 5-Axis
Milling centers with work envelopes up to 1200 × 800 mm.
Turning
Cylindrical and rotational features such as locating pins and threaded bores.
Secondary Ops
Drilling, tapping, slotting, and counterboring in the same setup.
1 to 100s
From plate, rod, or tube stock depending on geometry and availability.
Tolerances and Surface Requirements
Standard and tighter tolerances are available, with flatness, parallelism, and surface finish controlled to specification. Inspection reports include CMM data for position and profile dimensions.

Typical Industry Applications
Equipment manufacturers across regulated and high-precision sectors rely on plastic positioning blocks for alignment without electrical paths, corrosion, or excess weight.
-
Automation & Robotics
Positioning sensors and actuators without introducing electrical paths.
-
Semiconductor & Electronics
Dimensionally stable blocks for cleanroom conditions.
-
Medical Devices
PEEK or PSU versions for assembly and test station fixturing.
-
Fluid Handling & Chemical
PVDF or PTFE blocks for valve and pump alignment where corrosion resistance is mandatory.
-
Automotive & Aerospace
Low-volume runs for custom jigs and replacement wear parts.
Process Selection for Different Volumes
The machining route adapts to quantity, balancing repeatability and throughput. Material selection is reviewed at quotation stage to balance machinability against end-use performance.
-
Prototypes
Milled directly from CAD models with minimal fixturing.
-
Low Volume (under 50 pieces)
Same route, with fixture plates added for repeatability.
-
Several Hundred Pieces
Evaluation of nesting multiple parts per setup or dedicated soft jaws to improve throughput.
Working With PlasticCNCPro
Send 2D drawings, 3D models, or physical samples along with material preference, quantity, and tolerance notes. The engineering review checks for draft angles, thin-wall risks, and feature accessibility before returning a fixed quotation.
