CNC Machined Fixtures & Tooling

Custom Plastic Drill Jigs for Production and Assembly Lines

Plastic drill jigs position and guide drills during repeated hole-making operations. They cut setup time on manual or CNC equipment and hold hole location accuracy across batches of metal or plastic parts.

How Plastic Drill Jigs Are Produced

Every jig starts from your 2D drawing or 3D model and follows a controlled sequence from material selection through final inspection.

  1. 1

    Material Selection

We match the polymer to the required rigidity, wear resistance, and chemical exposure of your process.

  2. 2

    CNC Milling

Blocks and sheets are milled on 3-axis or 5-axis CNC centers to the jig body geometry.

  3. 3

    Drilling & Reaming

Guide holes are drilled and reamed to final diameter for accurate, repeatable drill entry.

  4. 4

    Bushing Press-Fit

Bushings are pressed in where specified to extend jig life under repeated drilling cycles.

  5. 5

    Edge Finishing

Chamfers and radii are applied to protect operators and avoid marking sensitive workpieces.

  6. 6

    Final Inspection

Hole position, diameter tolerance, and flatness are verified before parts leave the shop.

Machining Capacity for Drill Jig Projects

We hold stock of common engineering plastics and run two shifts, so most drill jig orders move from order confirmation to shipment in 7–12 working days for quantities under 50 pieces.

Fast-track note

For urgent needs, include your required delivery date in the inquiry and we will confirm feasibility during quoting.

Material Max Service Temp Typical Tolerance Wear Resistance Common Use Case
POM/Acetal 100 °C ±0.05 mm Medium General assembly fixtures
Nylon 6/66 80 °C ±0.08 mm Medium Light-duty drill templates
Glass-filled PEEK 250 °C ±0.03 mm High High-temperature or chemical lines
PTFE 260 °C ±0.1 mm Low Corrosive environment fixtures
PAI 250 °C ±0.04 mm Very High High-volume production jigs

When Machined Plastic Jigs Fit Project Needs

Plastic drill jigs suit prototype lines, low-volume equipment builds, and situations where metal fixtures would mark sensitive parts. They also serve as temporary fixtures while metal versions are tooled.

Because no mold is required, design changes can be incorporated between batches without extra tooling cost. Customers in automation and semiconductor equipment often start with one or two plastic jigs to validate hole patterns before ordering larger quantities.

Project Examples We Regularly Handle

  • Locating jigs for mounting brackets on robotic arms
  • Multi-hole templates for valve body drilling
  • Insulation drill plates used in electrical enclosure production
  • Wear-resistant guide plates for conveyor assembly stations
  • Custom bushings pressed into POM bodies for repeated 6 mm and 8 mm drilling
