Custom Plastic Pulleys
PlasticCNCPro machines plastic pulleys to customer drawings for industrial equipment, automation systems, and material-handling machinery. We handle both simple profiles and parts that require tight groove geometry, concentricity, and surface finish.

Materials for Plastic Pulleys
We machine pulleys from a broad range of engineering polymers, including filled and wear-resistant grades. Material selection depends on load, speed, chemical exposure, temperature range, and required wear life.
Our team reviews each application and recommends the grade that meets dimensional stability and friction requirements.
- POM
- Nylon
- UHMW-PE
- HDPE
- PET
- PBT
- PPS
- PEEK
Filled and wear-resistant grades are available on request. Selection factors: load, speed, chemical exposure, temperature range, wear life, dimensional stability, and friction.
CNC Machining Process
Pulleys are produced on 3-axis and 4-axis milling centers and CNC lathes. We hold tolerances to ±0.05 mm on critical diameters and achieve surface finishes suitable for belt contact without secondary polishing in most cases.
Turning
Outer diameter and bore are turned on CNC lathes to establish concentricity and critical diameter tolerances.
Milling & Drilling
Grooves and flanges are milled, mounting holes drilled, and threads tapped on 3-axis and 4-axis milling centers.
Custom Features
Keyways, set-screw holes, custom hubs, integrated flanges, and lightweight web sections are machined when weight reduction matters.
When CNC Machining Fits Your Project
CNC is suitable when quantities stay below typical injection-molding volumes, when the pulley requires features that are difficult to mold, or when a prototype must be tested before committing to tooling.
It also works for replacement pulleys on older equipment where the original material or dimensions are no longer standard.
Low to Mid Volumes
Quantities below typical injection-molding volumes.
Complex Features
Geometry that is difficult or costly to mold.
Prototype Validation
Test before committing to production tooling.
Replacement Parts
Legacy equipment with non-standard dimensions.
Material Consistency & Conversion
Buyers often choose CNC when they need consistent material properties across small batches, or when switching from metal to plastic for corrosion or weight reasons.
Quality and Documentation
Each batch receives dimensional inspection on key features. Parts ship with protective wrapping to prevent surface damage during transit.
- Dimensional inspection on key features for every batch
- Material certificates supplied on request
- First-article reports and capability data available
- Custom export packaging and protective wrapping
